As we progress into the third marking period, we are excited to say our administrative staff at South Haven High School is now complete! Prior to Winter Break, an interview process began consisting of two rounds of interviews with many qualified candidates. Following the interviews, the interview team, made up of high school staff members and administrators, made a recommendation to hire Mr. Tighe Carter who accepted the position and had his first day of school with us on Monday, January 13th.
Mr. Carter comes to us with fourteen years of experience in education and began his career as a business teacher at Allendale and Holton High Schools. He also has experience in an athletic director and virtual academy director position at Holton. For the past four years, Mr. Carter has served as the assistant principal for West Michigan Academy, located in Spring Lake, Michigan. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan and his master’s degree from Grand Valley State University in education leadership. He is described by his co-workers and supervisors as passionate about students and their learning, a flexible team player, an effective communicator, detail oriented, a problem solver, and supportive of staff and students.
I am certain that Mr. Carter will be a great fit for our students, families, and the South Haven Community! Please be sure to welcome him and introduce yourself as you see him out and about in the district.

Sincerely,
Kevin Schooley
Superintendent
