National Honor Society
Process
Interested candidates must fill out a personal profile sheet listing all of their accomplishments, both in school and in the community, beginning with their ninth grade year.

They must also obtain recommendations from three instructors and two community members not employed at L.C. Mohr High School.

Qualities
Students are selected based on four qualities:
  • Scholarship
  • Service
  • Character
  • Leadership

To be considered for National Honor Society, students must have an accumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher.

Selection
A selection team comprised of five instructors reviews the recommendations and personal profile sheets of each candidate. After review of each candidate, the selection committee meets again to discuss each prospective inductee. The committee then submits their list of chosen inductees to the NHS adviser.

There is no limit on how many inductees are selected each year, but the committee chooses only well-rounded candidates who they agree appropriately meet all of the qualifications necessary.
