The FARM Bus

Healthy food, books & fun all in one place, all summer!  The FARM Bus launched its first route on June 29, 2015.  It was donated by South Haven Public Schools and Superintendent Dr. Robert Herrera.  The bus runs each weekday for six weeks in the summer delivering meals each day to various locations around South Haven.  Book check-out and activities are also available once a week.  The bus also stops at three migrant camps on Saturdays for lunch and book check-outs.

SHPS has many students from low-income families who eat breakfast and lunch at school and may go hungry in the summer.  These students also may not have the opportunity to participate in summer reading programs at the library.  While trips to the library are offered to these children during the school year, many parents are not able to get students there due to work or lack of transportation. Bringing reading and meals to these students helps ensure they are well fed and ready to learn!
